Your number for this changes depending on your trip — so don’t memorize one, look for it. It’s printed right on top of your important travel documents, labeled DURING TRAVEL 24 HOUR ASSISTANCE NUMBER. That’s your line when something goes sideways, not a maybe.
When To Actually Use It
- ✓ Flight delayed, cancelled, or rebooked
- ✓ Bag lost, stolen, or damaged
- ✓ Medical emergency, big or small
- ✓ Any “wait, am I stuck?” moment
Your insurance covers exactly this stuff — cancellations, delays, lost luggage, emergencies. Call before you panic, not after.
KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS at every point of this trip. You may need them to file a claim later if any issues come up.
You can file the claim yourself, or I’ll handle it for you for a small fee — $50 per person, per claim.
Sometimes housekeeping and the front desk aren’t on the same page. Not your fault. Not a crisis. Here’s how you handle it — kind, calm, fast:
- 1 Inspect your room the SECOND you check in. Don’t unpack first.
- 2 Check the bed, bathroom, AC, and anything you requested (view, bed type, etc).
- 3 See a problem? Snap a clear pic before you touch anything.
- 4 Walk back to the front desk. Stay kind: “Hey, my room isn’t right — here’s what’s up.”
- 5 If they’re not sold out, they’ll fix it or move you. Nice gets you further than upset — every time.
- 6 Warning: only escalate for a real nuisance. Pick your battles — you want the whole stay smooth, not tense.
- ✓ Housekeeping: $2-5/day, left in the room daily (different staff may rotate through)
- ✓ Bartenders/servers: gratuity is usually already built into all-inclusive stays — tip extra cash for great service if you want
- ✓ Bellhop/porter: $1-2 per bag
- ✓ Bring small bills in USD — accepted almost everywhere, easiest way to tip on the spot
Some clients report tipping $5 and up a day and had the best experience — service tends to match what you put out.
Most domestic stays require a security deposit at the hotel lobby during check-in — usually $300 per room, card hold or cash. Some hotels won’t let you check in without it, so come prepared.
This is a domestic thing — all-inclusive resorts typically don’t require it.
It’s released back to you at check-out as long as there’s no damage to the room. No damage, no drama — you get it back.
Stop by the concierge or grab the weekly activity schedule the second you check in — keep it handy in your room all week. That’s your day-by-day cheat sheet for what’s happening on property.
Don’t wander around guessing what’s happening. Pull up your TripLink — the page you booked from — and scroll to Nightlife & Activities. Everything on property is already listed: parties, excursions, hours, all of it.
Bookmark it. Check it daily. You’ll never be the one asking “wait, what’s even going on tonight?”
- ✓ Check in for your flight 24 hours before departure
- ✓ International flights: be at the airport 3 hours early
- ✓ Domestic flights: be at the airport 2 hours early
- ✓ Traffic, lines, TSA — none of it cares about your excuse. No exceptions.
- ✓ Passport must stay valid 6+ months AFTER your return date — renew now if it’s close
