Embark on a culinary adventure at Hotel Xcaret’s Xin Gao, where our most entertaining dining experience unfolded in the form of a spectacular teppanyaki show. Our skilled chef not only dazzled us with culinary expertise but also entertained with flair, performing tricks, lighting tequila-fueled flames, and weaving in humor that earned our group the endearing nickname ‘famileee’. Our Little Monkey, armed with a new video recording device, captured every moment, showcasing the chef’s impressive moves and even skillfully catching a flying vegetable in her mouth – a feat that stole the show.
The meal itself was a delightful blend of simplicity and flavor. Beginning with a comforting miso soup, we savored a dish of vegetable fried rice, followed by a mixed grill platter offering options like salmon, shrimp, beef, and chicken. While the beef leaned towards the fatty side, the other three meats delivered a palate-pleasing experience. Accompanied by a vegetable medley, the main course combined fire, food, and fun in equal measure. However, it was the dessert that stole the spotlight, ending our entertaining meal on a sweet and visually stunning note. At Xin Gao, every bite is an experience, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a perfect blend of culinary artistry and entertainment.

Branded as a Brazilian Steakhouse, it transcends the typical resort fare, making it a must-visit for those with hearty appetites. The tantalizing variety was a feast for the senses, with the promise of 17 different options leaving anyone in awe.

Even while adventuring through the exhilarating parks, the resort seamlessly extended its culinary delights with included lunches at every turn. With a plethora of choices, both within the resort and amidst the captivating park landscapes, Hotel Xcaret Mexico ensures that every dining experience is a celebration of flavors, making each meal an integral part of your unforgettable stay.
Las Playas
During our stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, the casual dining haven, Las Playas, captured our attention as the elusive gem that doesn’t require reservations. Nestled near the pool and beach area, this a la carte restaurant beckons with a promise of delightful surprises. Inspired by the glowing recommendation from two elderly Mexican ladies, we ventured into Las Playas, intrigued by their declaration that it was their favorite resort. The small sample size proved significant as we indulged in various seafood dishes, each bursting with exceptional flavor. While the drinks may not have lived up to expectations, the tantalizing promise of the acclaimed cheesecake lingered, leaving us with the certainty that Las Playas is a culinary adventure waiting to unfold beneath the main pool in Xcaret Mexico.
Cantina Los Faroles
A Mexican restaurant focused on food from the Oaxacan region. The restaurant is beautifully lit with lanterns and also features live music at night. A sampler platter is available if you want to try a variety of things from this region.
Xin Gao
As a lover of Asian cuisine, a reservation required restaurant proved to be a delightful discovery, offering a culinary journey that exceeded expectations. Teatro Del Rio, where show and meal seamlessly merged, left a lasting impression with its captivating performances and delectable dishes. For a quick snack, the hidden gem lies to the far left of the main entrance buffet, where made-to-order tacos, especially the black chorizo and pork variations, stole the spotlight. When it came to drinks, the adventure continued – asking for special concoctions led to discovering gems like the non-alcoholic Jaquar, a refreshing passion fruit drink that became even more delightful with a hint of rum.
