Splitting a Room? Read This Before Booking Your Getaway!

Most all inclusive resorts with limited room options often can’t guarantee two beds until check-in. Be prepared to share a bed or the pull-out couch if you choose to share a room.

Heads up: Solo travelers pay a premium! Resorts and cruises often charge significantly more for single occupancy. Factor this in when deciding if a travel buddy is worth it.

Protect yourself from last-minute cancellations. If your travel companion cancels, you might be stuck paying the full price for the room. Make sure they understand that their travel insurance will not cover the resort portion upon their cancellation and choose someone reliable.

Consider separate payments to avoid financial stress. If you’re responsible for collecting money from your roommate, do it upfront before locking in the room. If you want them to pay directly submit their email information when filling out the form to lock in your room, we will send them an invoice to pay their portion. Have them pay directly to avoid future complications.

Traveling from the same city can save money. Booking flights and accommodation as a package often reduces the cost compared to booking separately, especially if you’re flying from different cities. If you still desire to leave from different cities, remain roommates, and enjoy the group perks consider just booking the hotel and ground transfers with the group and purchasing your flights separately on your own.

Remember, solo travel can be amazing too! Sometimes, the peace of mind and guaranteed personal space of a solo room are worth the extra cost.

Ultimately, choose what works best for you! If you can’t find the perfect travel companion, consider the freedom and comfort of a solo trip.
